The Best MCP Servers for Crypto Trading in 2026

Updated November 2, 2026

This is a curated guide to crypto MCP servers in the Moby Agent Marketplace. It sorts them by job and links each one to its listing for setup. The order is a reading order, not a quality ranking.

What is the best MCP server for crypto?

An MCP server gives an AI agent tools it can call, such as live prices, wallet data or order placement. For crypto, start with one server that can trade inside limits you set, like the Moby MCP for Solana, then add read-only data servers such as CoinGecko, Helius or Nansen for a second view.

See all crypto MCP servers in the Moby Agent Marketplace for the full directory and each install recipe.

What an MCP server does for a crypto agent

The Model Context Protocol is an open way for an AI app to call tools a server exposes. The server offers tools, such as a price, a wallet read, or an order call, and the model chooses when to use them. You choose which servers to connect, and which of them may move funds.

A crypto mcp server is usually one of three kinds. Data servers only read. Research servers read the web and the news. A trading mcp server can place orders. A practical crypto mcp setup is one trading server plus read-only servers for a second view. That is still one agent. The same pattern is what agentic trading means on Moby: the agent researches and can trade inside limits you set, and you manage it from the app.

The best crypto MCP servers, by job

Each card states what the server is, what it adds beside Moby, and the trade stance on its listing. Facts come from the listing or the publisher's docs. There is no score for uptime, accuracy or speed.

Moby does not audit or endorse third-party listings. Community listings are published by their own teams. Moby MCP is the official listing.

1. Moby MCP (trading + Solana smart money)

Moby MCP is Moby's official server. It gives your agent Moby's onchain intelligence (tracked whales, KOLs, smart money, live trades, token safety and holder quality) and lets it trade.

Trades run on Solana from the agent's own wallet, paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks. Order types on the listing are market, limit, trigger buy, DCA, stop-loss and take-profit. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes. The agent wallet has no withdraw, transfer or send tool. That wallet is separate from your main Moby wallet. There is one agent per user.

The remote server is https://mcp.moby.win/mcp. You create the key in the Moby app (Agent tab, Connect). Keys are revocable. Docs: moby.win/agents.md. It works with Codex, Claude Code (CLI) and Grok. Agent trading on Base, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain is coming soon.

Trade stance: Trades inside your Guardrails.

2. CoinGecko MCP (market-wide prices)

CoinGecko MCP is CoinGecko's official server, with a keyless endpoint and an API-key endpoint. An agent can read prices, market caps, volumes, categories, trending coins, exchanges and onchain DEX pool data. The keyless endpoint uses a shared rate limit. The API-key endpoint raises that limit.

Next to Moby, use it for rank, category, and whether a move is wider than one Solana pool. It does not trade.

Trade stance: Never trades. Docs: CoinGecko MCP server.

3. CoinMarketCap MCP (market mood)

CoinMarketCap MCP is CoinMarketCap's official remote server. The listing describes 12 tools, including quotes, global metrics with the Fear & Greed Index, trending narratives, news and upcoming macro events. It needs a CoinMarketCap API key.

Next to Moby, use it for mood and narrative before a Solana scan. It does not trade.

Trade stance: Never trades. Docs: CoinMarketCap MCP.

4. Helius MCP (raw Solana data)

Helius MCP is the official helius-mcp server from Helius: wallet balances and history, parsed transactions, token metadata and holders. The marketplace recipe installs it read-only. The full server also has write tools, including transfers, so this page describes the read-only install only. It needs a Helius API key.

Next to Moby, use it for the raw Solana history behind a trade Moby already surfaced, including wallets Moby does not track. Installed read-only, it does not move funds.

Trade stance: Never trades (as installed). Docs: Helius MCP.

5. Nansen MCP (second smart-money view)

Nansen MCP is Nansen's official server: smart-money holdings, netflows, DEX trades, token flows and holders, and wallet PnL, across chains with Solana included. It needs a Nansen API key or a Nansen account. Data calls use Nansen credits.

Next to Moby, treat it as a second wallet set: compare flows on a token you already have, and note where the two views differ. It does not trade.

Trade stance: Never trades. Docs: Nansen MCP.

6. Birdeye MCP (Solana price cross-check)

Birdeye MCP is Birdeye's official server, in beta. It covers Solana prices, OHLCV and trending lists. A keyless endpoint is there for tests. An API key opens the tools on your plan. The listing says tool names and limits can change while it is in beta.

Next to Moby, use it to cross-check Solana price, volume and candles. It does not trade.

Trade stance: Never trades. Docs: Birdeye MCP.

7. Vybe Solana MCP (wallet PnL and top traders)

Vybe Solana MCP is Vybe Network's official hosted server. The listing describes 44 tools, including token details, candles, holders, top-PnL traders, wallet PnL, transfers and Pyth prices. Sign-in is OAuth, with a free plan per the listing.

Next to Moby, use it as another Solana read on holders, top traders and wallet PnL. Moby stays the source for its whale list, KOLs and safety rating. Vybe's swap tool returns an unsigned transaction. It does not sign.

Trade stance: Suggests only. Docs: Vybe MCP.

8. DexPaprika MCP (DEX pools across chains)

DexPaprika MCP is CoinPaprika's hosted server: pools, token prices, OHLCV and indicators across 36 chains. The free tier is keyless. The listing counts 20 read tools.

Next to Moby, use it for a second read of pool price, liquidity and volume. It does not trade.

Trade stance: Never trades. Docs: DexPaprika docs.

9. OpenNews MCP (crypto news)

OpenNews MCP is 6551's server: crypto news from 85+ sources, including exchange listings, meme and onchain alerts, with AI impact scores. It needs a 6551 API token.

Next to Moby, use it for the headline beside a wallet print. The score and the long, short or neutral tag are labels on articles, not instructions. It does not trade.

Trade stance: Never trades. Source: 6551Team/opennews-mcp.

10. Exa, Tavily and Firecrawl MCP (web research)

These three official servers read the public web so an agent can open a token's site, docs and news. None of them trade. Trade stance for each: Never trades. After a web read, check the contract with Moby's search_tokens.

Exa MCP is Exa's web search. The listing's default tools search the web and fetch a page as markdown. It is keyless to start. An API key or OAuth raises limits. Docs: Exa MCP.

Tavily MCP searches, extracts, maps and crawls. The listing names tavily-search, tavily-extract, tavily-map and tavily-crawl. It uses a free API key. Docs: Tavily MCP.

Firecrawl MCP scrapes and crawls pages to markdown. The listing says the keyless server can search, scrape and parse. A key or OAuth opens map, crawl and page monitors. Docs: Firecrawl MCP.

11. TradeMemory Protocol (trade journal)

TradeMemory Protocol is an open-source, local-first memory server by Mnemox. It records trades and the reason for each one, then surfaces past losing trades before the next order. The agent writes with remember_trade and reads with recall_memories. Memory stays on your machine.

Next to Moby, it keeps the "why" that the order ledger does not. It does not place Moby orders, and it has no market data of its own.

Trade stance: Never trades. Source: github.com/mnemox-ai.

One more listing, not a numbered pick: Vibe-Trading is a repo with its own MCP server for research and backtests. Trade stance: Suggests only.

That is the curated set. The directory, with every install recipe, is all crypto MCP servers in the Moby Agent Marketplace.

How to choose a crypto MCP server

Pick by job and by what the server is allowed to do.

Are crypto MCP servers safe?

A careful setup means you know who published the server, which tools it exposes, and whether it can move money.

Data servers only read. The main risks are a leaked API key and a bad data point. Check the contract address before an order.

Trading servers can move money, so limits matter. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes. The Moby agent wallet has no withdraw, transfer or send tool, and it is separate from your main Moby wallet. There is one agent per user. Optional guardrail skills can sit on top. The app limits still win.

Install from the publisher's docs or the marketplace recipe, and read the tool list before you connect. Keep keys private and revoke unused ones. Moby does not audit or endorse third-party listings. Crypto trading can lose money, including when an agent places the order. See the CFTC advisory on AI trading bots.

Example crypto MCP stacks

One agent can call several servers in the same session. These three stacks use tool names from the listings. They are examples, not a required bundle.

How to add Moby MCP to your agent

This is the short path. Host commands and config files live on the host pages and on the Moby AI trading agent walkthrough, not here.

  1. Set up the agent and guardrails. Set up your Moby Agent in the app. There is one agent per user, and it has its own wallet, separate from your main Moby wallet. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes.
  2. Fund the agent wallet. Fund that wallet with USDC. Moby MCP trades are paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks on Solana.
  3. Create a key. In the Moby app, open Agent tab, Connect, and create a key. The key links the host to your agent. It is not a wallet private key. Do not paste it into a chat. You can revoke it in the same place.
  4. Connect the host. Connect Codex, Claude Code (CLI) or Grok. The full walkthrough is on the Moby AI trading agent page.

FAQ

What are the best MCP servers for crypto?

Start with Moby MCP for trading. Then add CoinGecko MCP for prices, CoinMarketCap MCP for market mood, Helius MCP for raw Solana data, Nansen MCP for a second smart-money view, Birdeye MCP for a price cross-check, Vybe Solana MCP for wallet PnL, DexPaprika MCP for DEX pools, OpenNews MCP for news, Exa MCP, Tavily MCP and Firecrawl MCP for web research, and TradeMemory Protocol for a trade journal.

Is there an MCP server that can trade crypto?

Yes. Moby MCP trades Solana tokens, including tokenized stocks, paid in USDC, from your agent's own wallet. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes. Agent trading on Base, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain is coming soon.

What is the best Solana MCP server?

For trading plus Solana smart money, use Moby MCP. For Solana data, add Helius MCP (installed read-only), Birdeye MCP and Vybe Solana MCP. They cover different jobs, and one agent can call them together.

Which MCP servers are trusted?

Prefer the publisher's official server, keep data servers read-only where you can, and use limits enforced outside the AI for any server that can place orders. The marketplace marks each listing Never trades, Suggests only, or Trades inside your Guardrails. Moby does not audit or endorse third-party listings.

Do crypto MCP servers cost money?

Several have a keyless start or a free tier: CoinGecko, DexPaprika, Exa and Firecrawl, and Birdeye for tests. Tavily uses a free API key per its listing, and Vybe includes a free plan per its listing. Paid plans raise limits. For Moby MCP trades: A 0.75% swap fee (minimum $0.90 per swap), plus onchain fees.

Which AI apps work with the Moby MCP?

Codex, Claude Code (CLI) and Grok. Each host page has the connect steps. This guide does not cover other apps.

Can I use several MCP servers at once?

Yes. One agent can call several MCP servers at the same time. A useful stack is one trading server plus data, news and a trade journal. You still have one Moby agent, with its own wallet. Adding servers does not create another agent.

Get started

Set up a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to the AI you use.

Download Moby to create the agent and set guardrails.

Try it with a Moby Agent

Use one agent with the servers above. Setup for the wallet, the guardrails, and Codex, Claude Code (CLI) and Grok is on the Moby AI trading agent page. Agentic trading is how that agent researches and trades Solana tokens, including tokenized stocks, inside limits you set. Agent trading on Base, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain is coming soon.
