About
CoinGecko runs an official MCP server with two endpoints. The keyless one shares rate limits with everyone. The API-key one has higher limits and the full tool set. Through it an agent reaches prices, market caps, volumes, categories, trending coins, exchanges and on-chain pool data for DEXes on many networks.
What it adds to Moby. The wider market. Moby is deepest on Solana tokens and who trades them. CoinGecko shows where a token ranks, how its category is doing, and whether a move is Solana-only or market-wide.
How to pair it. Check categories and the trending list in CoinGecko, then run the Solana names through Moby's get_token_overview, get_token_smart_money and get_token_risk_signals before anything is bought.
What it does not do. It has no whales, KOLs or holder quality. Brand-new launches reach it later than Moby. The keyless tier can hit shared rate limits on a busy scan. It cannot trade.
