About
CoinMarketCap runs an official remote MCP server with 12 tools: search, live quotes and global metrics (including the Fear & Greed Index), technical analysis for a coin and for the whole market, coin info, news, trending narratives, concept search, aggregate on-chain metrics, derivatives data and upcoming macro events.
What it adds to Moby. Top-down context. Before your agent hunts for Solana entries it can ask whether the market is risk-on, which narratives are hot, and whether a macro event should shrink today's sizes.
How to pair it. Use it at the start of a scheduled scan to set the tone, then let Moby's get_market_movers, get_smart_money_pulse and whale feeds find tokens inside those narratives.
What it does not do. It tracks listed assets, so brand-new Solana launches are thin or missing, and it has no per-wallet data. It needs a CoinMarketCap API key; check CoinMarketCap's pricing page for your plan's limits. It cannot trade.
