Tavily MCP

Tavily runs a remote MCP server at https://mcp.tavily.com/mcp/ with four tools: tavily-search (real-time web search with ranked results and snippets), tavily-extract (page content from URLs), tavily-map (a site's URL structure) and tavily-crawl (a systematic walk of a site). It authenticates with a Tavily API key in the URL or Authorization header, or through OAuth; the same server also runs locally with npx -y tavily-mcp@latest.

What it adds to Moby. A search layer tuned for agents rather than people: short, ranked, quotable results your agent can fold straight into a token brief. It is the simplest way to give a Moby agent the "read the news" step without a browser.

How to pair it. Before a buy, search Tavily for the token name plus its contract address and any catalyst the thesis depends on, then extract the two or three pages that matter. Weigh what you find against get_token_smart_money and get_token_risk_signals; Moby's data and your Guardrails decide.

What it does not do. No on-chain, holder or wallet data, and it cannot trade. Every call spends Tavily credits, so keep max_results small on scheduled scans. It returns what the web says, which for a young token is often the project's own copy; verify the address with search_tokens.
