Moby Agent vs Robinhood MCP: How Robinhood Agentic Trading Compares

Robinhood's Trading MCP connects an AI agent such as Claude Code, Codex or ChatGPT to your Robinhood account, so it can place stock, options and crypto orders in a dedicated agentic account. A Moby Agent trades Solana tokens, paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks, from its own wallet within limits you set. You can keep Robinhood and add Moby.

The 30-second verdict

Pick Robinhood agentic trading if you already invest with Robinhood, want an agent to trade US-listed equities, options or crypto inside a regulated brokerage account, want trade approvals before orders go out, or want built-in Robinhood Agents in the mobile app.

Pick a Moby Agent if you trade Solana tokens and memecoins onchain, want tokenized stocks on Solana paid in USDC (for example NVDAx, AAPLx, SPYx), or want smart-money data and a rug check tool your agent can read before it buys.

The honest part: they are built for different jobs and work well side by side. Keep Robinhood as your main app and use Moby as a side agentic wallet for Solana. This comparison is dated November 3, 2026. Robinhood facts below come from Robinhood's own pages.

How Robinhood agentic trading works

People look this up as robinhood mcp, robinhood agentic trading, or robinhood ai trading. Robinhood describes two ways in. One is an outside agent on the Robinhood Trading MCP. The other is Robinhood Agents built into the app. The wider idea of agentic trading is covered on its own page. This section stays on what Robinhood published.

Connecting an external agent with the Robinhood Trading MCP

Robinhood's MCP URL is https://agent.robinhood.com/mcp/trading, from its onboarding article. Robinhood's guide lists Claude Code, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT (Developer Mode), Codex, Codex CLI, Cursor and Grok, plus Perplexity, OpenClaw, Replit and others. You sign in with your Robinhood account to authorize the connection. Those names are Robinhood's host list for Robinhood. A Moby Agent uses a different host list, below.

You open a dedicated agentic (MCP) account, a self-directed individual investing account. Robinhood says it needs a primary individual investing account in good standing. Read access covers all your Robinhood accounts (positions, balances, order history), but per Robinhood "Your agent can only place trades in your Robinhood Agentic account."

Orders, per Robinhood's trading article: long equities, options and crypto; market (share or dollar based), limit, stop limit and stop market. Robinhood says agents cannot place multi-leg options orders. Advanced order tools are listed for external agents. Trade approvals are off by default for MCP accounts and are "still rolling out for MCP accounts," per Robinhood as of November 3, 2026. Not every customer has that control yet.

Crypto, per Robinhood: the agent can trade crypto but cannot transfer, stake or lend it, and crypto through an agent is not available in some states, including New York. That wording is Robinhood's, about Robinhood accounts. It is not a statement about where a Moby Agent can trade.

Unofficial read-only servers showed up in search before Robinhood published its own URL. Robinhood now runs the official Trading MCP above. Use Robinhood's article for the current link and steps.

Robinhood Agents (built in)

Built-in agents live in the Robinhood app, with a model you choose from third-party labs, skills, memory and Agent Apps. Trade approvals are on by default. Robinhood says these are "still rolling out. Not all customers have access" and the full experience is mobile only. Robinhood's overview says the agents are provided by Robinhood Labs, LLC. Robinhood's agents page also says Robinhood does not control, supervise, monitor, recommend, or audit these AI agents.

Token billing for built-in agents, per Robinhood: $5 in tokens free with your first agentic account, then the model's public token cost from a prepaid balance (minimum $1). Robinhood said at HOOD Summit (September 29, 2026) that GPT-Luna usage is free until the end of the year. That billing is for built-in Robinhood Agents, not for a Moby Agent. Agent Loops are shown as "Coming soon" on robinhood.com/us/en/agents/. This page does not describe them further.

Robinhood launched the beta on May 27, 2026, "with support for equities only out of the gate," per its newsroom. By the September 29, 2026 HOOD Summit, Robinhood said 150,000+ customers had opened agentic trading accounts since May, and that agents use Robinhood tools almost 30 million times a day. Options and crypto came after the equities-only beta. Check Robinhood's current pages before you rely on a feature that was still rolling out.

How a Moby Agent works

Moby Agents trade Solana tokens, paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks. Liquid tokenized stock examples are NVDAx, AAPLx, TSLAx, SPYx and QQQx. Read tokenized stocks for how those tokens track a price on Solana. Base, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain coming soon. That sentence is about Moby's own roadmap. It is not a Robinhood partnership, and it has no date.

Each user gets one agent, with its own wallet separate from your main in-app wallet. The agent cannot withdraw or send funds. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes. The limits live on the server, which is the point of AI agent guardrails. AI agent security covers keys and tool lists around that check.

Set up a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to the AI you use. Connect it from Codex, Claude Code (CLI), Gemini CLI (with a paid Gemini API key or enterprise access) and Grok CLI, with the agent key. In ChatGPT, paste your personal Moby connector URL from the app. ChatGPT: works on Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces that allow custom MCP servers (web). Auth is a Bearer agent key from the Moby app, through the Moby MCP. Steps: Codex, Claude Code (CLI) and Grok CLI. The key is not a wallet private key. There is no account sign-in for Moby on this page.

Tell your agent your exits and it places real take-profit and stop-loss orders on Moby, including a one-call bracket. That line is for the exits you tell the agent to place. It is not an automatic exit on every buy, and it is not a claim about a SOL position you did not set.

Before a buy, the agent can read smart-money data (whale and KOL activity, key holders). See the whale tracking agent. The rug check gives a verdict from Moby risk signals and holder concentration. The agent wallet holds only what you fund it with.

Where Robinhood agentic trading is stronger

Brand and a regulated US brokerage. Real US-listed equities and options. Trade approvals that are on by default for built-in agents. A very wide host list, including tools this page does not list as Moby hosts. Built-in agents with Agent Apps in the app. Read access to your whole portfolio for context. Scale: Robinhood said 150,000+ customers opened agentic trading accounts since May, at HOOD Summit on September 29, 2026. If your main account is already at Robinhood, that is the job this product is built for.

Where a Moby Agent is stronger

Solana tokens and memecoins onchain. Tokenized stocks on Solana paid in USDC, tradable onchain. Smart-money data and a rug check your agent can read before it buys. Limits on market-cap range as well as size, checked server-side on every buy. An agent wallet that holds only what you fund it with, and that cannot withdraw or send.

Use both: Robinhood as your main app, Moby as a Solana side agent

Keep Robinhood for your long-term investing and its agentic account. Give a Moby Agent a small USDC balance for Solana tokens. That is one Robinhood agentic account and one Moby Agent, each with its own limits. Moby gives each user one agent. It does not run several Moby agents. Fund only what you can lose in the agent wallet, and revoke the Moby key in the app if you want it to stop.
