Coinbase for Agents Alternatives: Other Ways to Let an AI Agent Trade
The main alternatives to Coinbase for Agents are Robinhood's Trading MCP, Kraken's CLI and MCP server and Alpaca's MCP server for brokerage and exchange accounts, plus Moby and Voyager for Solana tokens onchain. Coinbase's AgentKit and Agentic Wallet suit builders. Pick by what you want to trade and how much control you want.
Why look beyond Coinbase for Agents
Coinbase for Agents is a strong choice if your money is already on Coinbase: the brand, OAuth sign-in in ChatGPT and in the Claude app, centralized exchange liquidity, and no API key for Coinbase's remote MCP. Moby also works in ChatGPT. In ChatGPT, paste your personal Moby connector URL from the app. A one-to-one comparison is on Moby Agent vs Coinbase for Agents. This page is the other paths.
Look further if you trade Solana tokens or memecoins onchain, want another broker's assets, want to build your own agent, or want a side agent wallet next to your main account. People also search coinbase alternatives when they want a different exchange. This page is not that list. It stays on coinbase for agents alternatives.
Each product was checked on its own site on November 2, 2026. "Not covered here" means that fact was not verified. There is no ranking and no score. For any product other than the Moby notes here, check eligibility on its site. Crypto, stocks and futures, depending on your region and account eligibility, per Coinbase. Check Coinbase's current list for your account. That futures wording is Coinbase's. Moby Agents do not trade perps and do not use leverage.
Quick pick: match the option to what you trade
As of November 2, 2026. An AI trading agent, a crypto AI agent, or an AI agent for crypto trading follows the venue you connect. Match the row, then read that card.
| If you want to trade | Options to look at |
|---|---|
| Solana tokens and memecoins onchain, with smart-money data | Moby Agent, Voyager |
| Tokenized stocks on Solana | Moby Agent |
| Stocks, options and crypto in a brokerage account | Robinhood Trading MCP, Alpaca MCP Server |
| Crypto on a centralized exchange from a local CLI | Kraken CLI and MCP server |
| Build your own onchain agent | Coinbase AgentKit, Coinbase Agentic Wallet |
The alternatives, one by one
For Solana tokens, the Solana MCP options here are a Moby Agent and Voyager's hosted Solana MCP server. The other cards are brokerage accounts, an exchange CLI, and Coinbase's own developer kits. Each card uses the same fields.
Moby Agent (Solana tokens, memecoins and tokenized stocks)
Moby Agents trade Solana tokens, paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks. Liquid examples are NVDAx, AAPLx, SPYx and TSLAx, on Solana via DEX. See tokenized stocks. AI Trading on Base, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain is coming soon. Each user gets one agent, with its own wallet separate from your main in-app wallet. The agent cannot withdraw or send funds. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes.
Codex, Claude Code (CLI), Gemini CLI and Grok CLI connect with the agent key. In ChatGPT, paste your personal Moby connector URL from the app. Connection is the Moby MCP. The agent key is a Bearer API key created in the app. It is not a wallet private key. Smart-money data (whale and KOL activity, key holders) and a rug check sit in the agent. The rug check returns a low, medium or high verdict from Moby risk signals and holder concentration. Tell your agent your exits and it places real take-profit and stop-loss orders on Moby, including a one-call bracket. Strategy write-up: whale tracking agent. Steps: Codex, Claude Code (CLI), Grok CLI, and Moby Agents. Gemini CLI uses the same agent key.

Kraken CLI and MCP server
Per Kraken's MCP docs and the kraken-cli repository, this is the open-source CLI people find as kraken mcp or kraken cli. The repo says it trades "crypto, tokenized stocks, forex and futures on Kraken from your terminal or your AI agent," with a local stdio MCP server, kraken-mcp, labeled alpha, for Claude, Codex and Cursor. Moby Agents do not trade perps and do not use leverage. Check eligibility on Kraken's site. Fees for this path are not covered here.

Alpaca MCP Server

Alpaca describes 65 tools, a local process (uvx alpaca-mcp-server), Alpaca API keys, and paper trading by default. Coinbase's developer tools: AgentKit and Agentic Wallet
These kits are for builders, separate from the Coinbase for Agents account connection and from a coinbase mcp login to a portfolio. Per AgentKit's docs, AgentKit builds agents that act onchain on EVM networks or Solana. Per the Agentic Wallet docs, that product is a CLI and MCP wallet with spending limits and x402, and trading is only available on Base mainnet. Coinbase agentkit is the SDK name. The account product stays at coinbase.com/agents and the overview.

How to choose safely
Fund a separate account or wallet with only what you can lose. Prefer limits checked on the server, not only in the prompt. Remove withdraw and send permissions where the product allows it. Start small, or on paper where that mode exists. Keep a key you can revoke, and review the trades.
Limits cap exposure, not losses. AI agent security and AI agent guardrails go further on keys, tool scope and caps. A wider crypto MCP list is MCP servers for crypto. This page stays on alternatives to Coinbase for Agents.
You do not have to switch
Keep Coinbase, Robinhood, or another broker as the main account. Add one Moby Agent as a side agent wallet for Solana tokens and memecoins. Each user gets one Moby agent, with its own wallet, separate from the main in-app wallet.
Moby Agents trade Solana tokens, paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks. The general model is agentic trading.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best alternatives to Coinbase for Agents?
It depends on what you trade. For stocks, options and crypto in a brokerage account, look at Robinhood's Trading MCP or Alpaca's MCP server. For crypto on an exchange from a local CLI, look at Kraken. For Solana tokens onchain, look at Moby or Voyager.
Is there a Coinbase for Agents alternative for Solana?
Yes. Moby Agents trade Solana tokens, paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks, with smart-money data and a rug check tool built in. Voyager is a hosted Solana MCP server that routes swaps through Jupiter. Both give the agent its own wallet with limits.
Which AI agents can trade stocks?
Robinhood's Trading MCP and Alpaca's MCP server support stock orders, and Coinbase says its agents can trade stocks depending on region and account eligibility. Moby Agents trade tokenized stocks on Solana, such as NVDAx and SPYx, paid in USDC.
Do I need an API key to connect a trading agent?
It varies. Coinbase's remote MCP and Robinhood's Trading MCP use account sign-in. Kraken and Alpaca use API keys. Codex, Claude Code (CLI), Gemini CLI and Grok CLI connect to Moby with the agent key. In ChatGPT, paste your personal Moby connector URL from the app. Voyager supports wallet sign-in or an API key.
How do I keep a trading agent from losing too much?
Give it a separate account or wallet funded with only what you can lose, set limits that are checked on the server, remove withdraw and send permissions, start small or on paper, and review its trades. Limits cap exposure, not losses.
Can I use Moby alongside Coinbase or Robinhood?
Yes. You can keep your main account where it is and add a Moby Agent as a side agent wallet for Solana tokens and memecoins. Each product keeps its own funds and limits.
Can a Moby Agent withdraw my funds?
No. Each user gets one agent, with its own wallet separate from your main in-app wallet. The agent cannot withdraw or send funds, and Moby checks your limits server-side on every buy your agent makes.
Try it with a Moby Agent
Set up a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to the AI you use.
