Crypto glossary, for agentic trading

Agentic trading

Agentic trading means an AI agent researches markets and can place trades within limits you set, from its own wallet funded in USDC. The longer page is agentic trading.

Agent marketplace

The agent marketplace is a catalog of skills, tools, data and routines you can add to an agent. Browse the Agent Marketplace.

Agent wallet

An agent wallet is the wallet the agent trades from. It is separate from the main wallet in the app, and it is funded in USDC. Each user has one agent. Details are on the agent wallet page.

AI trading agent

An AI trading agent is software that can read market data and send a trade when you allow it. Setup starts at Moby Agents.

Backtest

A backtest replays a strategy on past prices to see how the rules would have done. Past results do not predict future returns. Moby does not run backtests. How to use an AI assistant for the test is on backtesting with AI.

Bearer key

A Bearer key is the agent key sent in an Authorization header. It is not a wallet private key, and you can revoke it in the Moby app. How keys fit a trading agent is on AI agent security.

Copy trading

Copy trading means copying another wallet's trades into your own. You still hold the funds, and you can still lose money. The definition is on copy trading.

Guardrails and caps

Guardrails are limits the model cannot raise. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes. More is on AI agent guardrails.

Harness

A harness is the program that runs a model against tools, holds the prompt, and decides how much history each request carries. Costs and setup are in the AI trading agent harness guide.

MCP server

An MCP server is a tool server a model can call, such as one that reads prices or requests a swap. How that works for trading is on MCP for trading.

MCP vs API

An API is a request your own code sends. MCP is a way for a model to discover and call tools, often sitting on top of an API. The comparison is MCP vs API.

Prompt injection

Prompt injection is text, often from a page or a token name, that tries to make the model ignore your instructions. A rule only in the prompt is not a control. How to limit the damage is on AI agent security.

Rug pull and honeypot

A rug pull is when liquidity is removed and the price collapses. A honeypot lets a wallet buy and then blocks the sell. A rug check reads holder and liquidity signals before a buy. It does not make the token safe.

Sniper bot

A sniper bot buys a new token in the first seconds or blocks after it can be traded. It can lose money, and there is no guarantee. The definition is what a sniper bot is.

Tokenized stocks

Tokenized stocks are tokens whose price tracks a stock. They trade on Solana, paid in USDC, and they do not carry shareholder rights. The explainer is tokenized stocks.

Whale

A crypto whale is a wallet holding or trading enough of a token to move its price. There is no fixed cutoff. The short definition is what a whale in crypto is.
