solana-py is the Python Solana SDK for RPC, transactions, and SPL tokens. Use it for research and scripting beside Moby; keep live execution and keys inside Moby Guardrails.

About

solana-py is a MIT-licensed Python client for the Solana JSON RPC API and SPL Token program. It is commonly paired with solders for core types. Agents can read accounts, balances, and logs, or build transactions in research code.

What it adds to Moby. A Python-native Solana toolkit when your harness already runs Python and you need RPC reads or offline transaction crafting next to Moby's trading tools.

How to pair it. pip install solana solders, point the client at a public or keyed RPC URL, and use read APIs freely. Do not put seed phrases into agent env files. Prefer Moby for live swaps so Guardrails stay on.

What it does not do. It is not a marketplace trading terminal. Signing with a local keypair is possible in the library; treat that as advanced and avoid unaudited custody patterns.

Install steps

Third-party code: Moby does not audit or control it. Read the source before you run it.

  1. pip install solders solana
  2. Create an AsyncClient or sync client against your RPC URL for reads.
  3. Keep seed phrases out of agent config. Place live trades through Moby.

  5. Ask: Using solana-py, fetch account or token balances for <pubkey> and summarize. Do not sign or send a transaction.
