Cryptofeed is a Python websocket handler for live cryptocurrency trades, prices, and order books across many exchanges.

About

Cryptofeed is a Python library that connects to exchange websockets and normalizes live trades, prices, and order books. Public feeds need no credentials. Authenticated channels use that exchange's API key and secret.

What it adds to Moby. A live tape and book feed your agent can subscribe to when it needs streaming data rather than one-off REST snapshots.

How to pair it. pip install cryptofeed from the official package only. Subscribe to public trades or books for research, then place any live orders through Moby. Typosquat packages have targeted this name; install only official cryptofeed.

What it does not do. It does not place trades by itself and it is not a trading terminal.

Install steps

Third-party code: Moby does not audit or control it. Read the source before you run it.

  1. Install only the official package: pip install cryptofeed.
  2. Subscribe to public trades, tickers, or order books for the venues you care about.
  3. Do not install similarly named packages; typosquats have existed.
  4. Ask: Subscribe with official cryptofeed to live trades for <symbol> and summarize the last minute of prints. Do not place an order.
