CCXT is a unified library for crypto exchange market data, balances, and orders across 100+ venues. Use it for research; keep live execution inside Moby.
About
CCXT is a unified library for talking to 100+ cryptocurrency exchanges from Python, JavaScript, and other languages. Public calls cover market data with no key. Private calls use each exchange's API key and secret for balances and orders.
What it adds to Moby. One client for venue data your agent may need beside Moby's own market tools. Language models guess at order-book shape; CCXT can fetch the real book, ticker, or balance when you point it at a supported venue.
How to pair it. Install the official ccxt package only (pip install ccxt or npm install ccxt). Use it for public market data or account reads. Place live trades through Moby so Guardrails stay on. Do not treat CCXT as a trading terminal or as a replacement for Moby execution.
What it does not do. It does not custody funds, and it is not Moby. Fake packages have used similar names; install only the official ccxt package from the ccxt/ccxt repo.
What's inside this repo
- Unified API for 100+ cryptocurrency exchanges
- Public market data (tickers, order books, trades, OHLCV) with no key
- Private balance, order, and account calls with exchange API keys

Install steps
Third-party code: Moby does not audit or control it. Read the source before you run it.
- Install only the official package:
pip install ccxtornpm install ccxt. - For public data, create a venue client with no keys and fetch tickers, order books, or trades.
- Keep live execution on Moby. Do not send production orders through CCXT when Moby can place them.
- Docs: https://docs.ccxt.com
- Ask:
Using official ccxt, pull the top of the book for <symbol> on <venue> and summarize spread and size. Do not place an order.
