Cryptohopper vs 3Commas: Which Crypto Bot Fits You?
Cryptohopper and 3Commas both run crypto bots on exchanges you connect by API key. Per their pricing pages on November 3, 2026, Cryptohopper costs $29 to $129 a month and 3Commas $20 to $140, with lower yearly rates. Cryptohopper leans on strategy design and a marketplace. 3Commas leans on DCA, grid and signal bots.
Cryptohopper vs 3Commas, and the reverse wording 3commas vs cryptohopper, is a choice between two hosted crypto bot platforms. This page uses their pricing and product pages as of November 3, 2026, and it leaves a cell as "Not covered here" when a feature was not on those pages. Neither company is the same kind of product as a Moby Agent. Moby shows up at the end as a different route: an AI agent with its own onchain wallet, next to the exchange you already use. A seven-option list is on 3Commas alternatives.

Pricing compared
Cryptohopper pricing and 3commas pricing, from each pricing page. Tiers do not include the same bots, so a lower sticker is not "cheaper overall." Cryptohopper's prices exclude VAT. Trading fees on the exchange you connect are extra at both.

Bots and strategy tools
Cryptohopper's pricing page names a Strategy Designer, event-based triggers, a Copy Bot, and a Marketplace. 3Commas names DCA, Signal, and Grid bots, plus SmartTrade with trailing take-profit and stop-loss and multiple take profits. 3Commas also documents a Signal Bot that runs from TradingView webhooks and Pine Script. Cryptohopper's TradingView support was not verified on the pages used here, so the table says not covered here.
Practice modes: Cryptohopper lists paper trading and backtesting. 3Commas lists a Demo Account and backtesting on 1-minute candles. 3Commas's own FAQ says of backtesting: "While it can't predict the future, it shows how your strategy would have performed in past market conditions."
AI features
On Hero, Cryptohopper lists AI strategies and an AI designer. It also lists Hopper Arena, described as a place to watch AI models battle. Cryptohopper MCP is a separate feature: the page "Connect Cryptohopper to your AI" gives the endpoint https://mcp-data.cryptohopper.com/mcp and describes candles from 1 minute to 1 day and an order book. Cryptohopper says that MCP works with "Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client," and it documents a bearer MCP API key or OAuth2 for that connection. Those client names are Cryptohopper's, for Cryptohopper's market-data server. They are not a list of Moby hosts. This page describes the Cryptohopper MCP as market data, which is how Cryptohopper describes it. Source: cryptohopper.com/features/cryptohopper-mcp.
3Commas lists an AI Assistant and an AI Grid Bot. QuantPilot is described by 3Commas as "an end-to-end platform where autonomous agents build, backtest, and optimize strategies for you," and it is in early access. This page does not judge either company's AI wording.
Cryptohopper in brief, and 3Commas in brief
Cryptohopper
Cryptohopper is an established hosted bot platform with public prices. Its pricing-page disclaimer says "Cryptohopper is not a regulated entity" and that past performance is not indicative of future results. People asking "is cryptohopper legit" can read those lines, the published tiers, and the exchanges it names, and still start small. A public price list is not a promise about results. Partners named on its exchanges page include Binance, Coinbase Advanced, Kraken, OKX, and KuCoin. This page names those five and does not extend the list.
3Commas
3Commas is the other hosted platform in this comparison. It says it "does not have access to your exchange account and cannot withdraw your funds." Its home and exchanges pages name Binance, Bybit, OKX, Kraken, KuCoin, Coinbase, and others. The glance table stops at that short list on purpose.
Verdict
- Pick Cryptohopper if you want a strategy designer, a marketplace, and a copy bot, and you trade a set number of coins.
- Pick 3Commas if you want DCA, grid, and signal bots driven by TradingView alerts, or futures on 3Commas Pro and Expert.
- The honest part: both are bot platforms on exchange accounts, both cost a monthly fee plus exchange trading fees, and neither can promise profits. Try the trial or the demo first.
There is no "most successful" bot to name. The CFTC's advisory, AI Won't Turn Trading Bots into Money Machines, says AI technology can't predict the future.
Cryptohopper alternatives
If the question is a cryptohopper alternative rather than a straight comparison, the short list is: 3Commas, Bitsgap, and WunderTrading for other hosted bots; Pionex for bots that run inside its exchange; Freqtrade and Hummingbot for free open-source code; and the agent route below. Pionex's fees are written out on 3Commas alternatives, which is also the full list. What "free" still costs is on free AI trading bots. Signal bots, including 3Commas Signal Bot limits, are on AI trading signals.
A different route: an AI agent with its own wallet
A Moby Agent is not a bot subscription. Set up a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to the AI you use. Moby Agents trade Solana tokens, paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks. Each user gets one agent, with its own wallet separate from your main in-app wallet. The agent cannot withdraw or send funds. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes. Tell your agent your exits and it places real take-profit and stop-loss orders on Moby, including a one-call bracket. It sits next to your main exchange or app. One plain difference: with a bot platform you connect an exchange API key; with a Moby Agent the AI gets a revocable agent key that cannot withdraw or send. A 0.75% swap fee (minimum $0.90 per swap), plus onchain fees. Connect it from Codex, Claude Code (CLI), Gemini CLI (with a paid Gemini API key or enterprise access) and Grok CLI, with the agent key. In ChatGPT, paste your personal Moby connector URL from the app. ChatGPT: works on Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces that allow custom MCP servers (web). Any MCP client that can send an Authorization header can connect using the generic setup.
