3Commas Alternatives: 7 Options Compared
The main 3Commas alternatives are Cryptohopper, Bitsgap and WunderTrading for hosted exchange bots, Pionex for bots built into an exchange, Freqtrade and Hummingbot for free open-source code, and a Moby Agent if you want an AI agent that trades Solana tokens from its own wallet. Choose by where your funds sit and your budget.
People looking for a 3commas alternative usually want one thing to change: the price, the kind of bot, where the funds sit, or a move from a rules bot to an agent that you talk to. This page lists seven options by that change. It does not rank them, and it does not call one the best except in the FAQ, where the answer is that it depends. A wider app list is AI trading apps. Cost, including what "free" still costs, is free AI trading bots.
3Commas in brief
This is a fact summary from 3Commas's own pages as of November 3, 2026, not a rating. You connect exchange accounts with an API key. The product includes DCA, Signal, and Grid bots, and SmartTrade with trailing take-profit and stop-loss and multiple take profits. 3Commas also lists an AI Grid Bot and an AI Assistant, plus webhook execution on its plans.
QuantPilot is described by 3Commas as "an end-to-end platform where autonomous agents build, backtest, and optimize strategies for you," and it is marked early access. Prices on the pricing page: Starter $20 a month ($15 billed yearly), Pro $50 ($38 billed yearly), Expert $140 ($105 billed yearly). Starter is spot only. Pro and Expert add futures, in 3Commas's own words "spot and futures." 3Commas says it "does not have access to your exchange account and cannot withdraw your funds."
Starter limits from that page: 1 API key per exchange, 5 DCA bots, 2 Signal bots, 2 Grid bots. Pro: 5 keys, 20 DCA, 20 Signal, 10 Grid, spot and futures. Expert: 25 keys, 1,000 bots of each type, and a Developers API. A free trial is offered. This page states the trial. It does not state a free plan, because the pricing page does not show one. Hosted bot platforms
Cryptohopper
Cryptohopper is another hosted platform: you connect exchanges, and it runs the bots. Plans are Explorer, Adventurer, and Hero. The pricing page lists Copy Bot, Strategy Designer, a marketplace, paper trading, and backtesting. Hero adds "A.I. strategies and A.I designer." Cryptohopper also documents Cryptohopper MCP as a way to connect its market data (candles and order book) to an AI app, at https://mcp-data.cryptohopper.com/mcp. This page describes that MCP as market data, which is how Cryptohopper describes it. Good fit if you want a strategy designer and a marketplace and you are comparing subscription bots. Bitsgap
Bitsgap's pricing page lists Free, Basic, Advanced, and Pro. Basic is $23 a month billed yearly or $29 monthly. Advanced is $55 or $69 and is where Bitsgap puts futures bots. Pro is $119 or $149. There is a 7-day PRO trial with no credit card. The page says 17 supported exchanges, and it lists an AI Assistant and AI Chat. Bot types named there include Grid, DCA, and COMBO. Good fit if you want another hosted bot on exchanges you already use, including a published $0 plan with limits. Source: bitsgap.com/pricing.
WunderTrading
WunderTrading's pricing page describes a lifetime Free plan with no time limit: 1 signal bot, 1 DCA bot, and 1 grid bot, and a 7-day Pro trial. It says withdrawal access must be disabled on API keys, and it offers IP whitelisting. It cites 18+ exchange integrations. Paid prices were not captured from the script-rendered page, so the table says not covered here. Good fit if you want to start on a plan the vendor says does not expire, and you will check the paid tiers on their site yourself. Source: WunderTrading's pricing page.
Bots built into an exchange
Pionex
Pionex runs its bots inside the exchange account. You do not hand an outside API key to a separate bot company for those built-in bots. As of November 3, 2026, Pionex lists a spot fee of 0.05% maker and 0.05% taker. Most built-in bots (Spot Grid, Futures Grid, DCA Bot, Rebalancing Bot) are free to use and you pay only the trading fee. Futures Moon, Leveraged Grid and Margin Grid take 20% of profits when you close, reduce or withdraw. Pionex.AI is an AI agent platform, currently in beta. It has a free base tier and paid plans, and the Help Center says its agents do not trade on their own. Pionex.AI is not a free trading bot. No other Pionex figure is added here. Open-source options
Freqtrade
Freqtrade is GPL-3.0 software you run. The GitHub API check for this page showed 56,373 stars and a last push on November 3, 2026. You need Python, a server, and exchange API keys. The README recommends Dry-Run first. FreqAI is the machine-learning add-on. Good fit if you want to read the code and you will operate the host yourself. Source: github.com/freqtrade/freqtrade.
Hummingbot
Hummingbot is Apache-2.0. The same check showed 20,919 stars and a last push on October 20, 2026. It targets both centralized exchanges and DEXs. Condor is described as an AI harness for building and running agentic strategies. You still run the process and pay venue fees. Good fit if you want a framework you can inspect, including for DEX venues, and you accept the setup work. Source: github.com/hummingbot/hummingbot.
An AI agent instead of a bot
Moby Agent
A Moby Agent is a different model. You tell an AI what to do in plain words, and it calls Moby's tools within limits Moby checks on the server. Set up a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to the AI you use. Moby Agents trade Solana tokens, paid in USDC, including tokenized stocks. Each user gets one agent, with its own wallet separate from your main in-app wallet. The agent cannot withdraw or send funds. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes. Tell your agent your exits and it places real take-profit and stop-loss orders on Moby, including a one-call bracket. It is a side agentic wallet next to your main exchange or app, not a replacement, and not a 3Commas substitute. Starter themes you can read about include Large Cap Allocator and Smart Money Confirmed. This page has no performance numbers for them. Connect it from Codex, Claude Code (CLI), Gemini CLI (with a paid Gemini API key or enterprise access) and Grok CLI, with the agent key. In ChatGPT, paste your personal Moby connector URL from the app. ChatGPT: works on Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces that allow custom MCP servers (web). Any MCP client that can send an Authorization header can connect using the generic setup. A 0.75% swap fee (minimum $0.90 per swap), plus onchain fees. Tokenized stocks explains the tickers an agent can trade on Solana. Solana trading bot is the bot-shaped cousin.
Security checks before you switch
People also ask whether a bot platform is safe. The checks are the same whichever name is on the subscription. AI agent security and AI agent guardrails go further for agents.
- Where do the funds sit? On an exchange you connected, inside that exchange, on your own server's keys, or in a separate agent wallet?
- What can the key or the connection do? Turn withdrawal permission off on any exchange API key you give a bot.
- Does the platform offer IP whitelisting? Use it where it does. WunderTrading documents this.
- Revoke keys you are no longer using, including keys at the platform you are leaving.
- Start small, and read the first week of orders before you raise size.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best 3Commas alternative?
It depends on what you want to change. For another hosted bot platform, look at Cryptohopper, Bitsgap or WunderTrading. For bots built into an exchange, Pionex. For free open-source code, Freqtrade or Hummingbot. For an AI agent trading Solana tokens from its own wallet, a Moby Agent.
Is there a free alternative to 3Commas?
Yes. Freqtrade and Hummingbot are free open-source software. On Pionex, most built-in bots (Spot Grid, Futures Grid, DCA Bot, Rebalancing Bot) are free to use and you pay only the trading fee, while Futures Moon, Leveraged Grid and Margin Grid take 20% of profits when you close, reduce or withdraw. WunderTrading and Bitsgap list $0 plans with limits. Trading fees still apply in every case.
Is Cryptohopper better than 3Commas?
Neither is better for everyone. Both connect to exchanges by API key and offer bots, backtesting and paper trading. Compare price, the bot types you need and the exchanges you use. Our Cryptohopper vs 3Commas page puts them side by side.
Can I use 3Commas for free?
3Commas offers a free trial of its paid plans on its pricing page. Paid plans start at $20 a month, or $15 a month billed yearly, as of November 3, 2026. Check 3Commas for current terms.
How much does 3Commas cost?
Per 3Commas's pricing page on November 3, 2026: Starter $20 a month ($15 billed yearly), Pro $50 ($38 billed yearly) and Expert $140 ($105 billed yearly).
Is a Moby Agent a 3Commas replacement?
Not exactly. 3Commas runs bots on exchange accounts you connect. A Moby Agent is an AI agent with its own wallet that trades Solana tokens, including tokenized stocks, within limits you set. Many people would use it next to their main exchange or app, not instead of it.
What should I check before switching bot platforms?
Where your funds sit, what the API key or connection can do, the bot types and exchanges supported, the full monthly cost including trading fees, and how to revoke access. Turn off withdrawal permission on any exchange API key you give a bot.
