Hermes Agent

Hermes Agent is an open-source (MIT) agent runtime from Nous Research. It runs as a terminal app or behind a messaging gateway (Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal), uses any model (OpenRouter, Nous Portal, your own endpoint; switch with hermes model), connects to any MCP server, schedules jobs in natural language with its built-in cron, spawns subagents, and keeps a learning loop: it writes skills from its own work and carries a memory of you across sessions. It runs on a $5 VPS, in Docker, over SSH, or on serverless backends such as Modal and Daytona.

What it adds to Moby. A place to run a Moby agent unattended, on a cheap model, without a paid chat seat. Hermes is stateless per scan: every scan starts from a clean context, so a scan costs 21,000 to 47,000 tokens whatever happened before. The cost table on this page shows what that comes to per month for each model, provider and cadence; the recommended cadence is every 5 minutes.

How to pair it. Install Hermes, pick a model, add the Moby MCP server with your agent key, and schedule the scan you want (every 5 minutes, check my watchlist with Moby and tell me when a whale buys). Trades go through the Moby MCP. You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes.

What it does not do. It has no market data of its own: everything it knows about a token comes from the Moby MCP. It does not hold your funds; the agent wallet stays in Moby. The learning loop writes skills and memory to its own disk, so review what it saved before you let it run for weeks.
