AI Hedge Fund

AI Hedge Fund runs a team of LLM investor agents over a stock, paper-trades and backtests their calls, and never places a real order; a second opinion on the stocks behind Moby's tokenized stocks.

About

AI Hedge Fund (pipx install aihf) is a terminal app in which LLM agents modelled on well-known investors analyse a ticker and vote. It has two modes: paper trading, where each fund keeps a hash-chained ledger of real market days and fake money with an approval step before every decision, and backtesting, which replays a fund over history against a benchmark. Prices, fundamentals and earnings come from a Financial Datasets API key; the agents run on one LLM key (Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google, xAI, Kimi).

What it adds to Moby. A fundamentals-driven, multi-agent debate on equities, with a paper track record you can inspect before you trust it.

How to pair it. Before your Moby agent buys a tokenized stock, run AI Hedge Fund on the underlying ticker and read the vote and the fund's paper NAV. Your Moby agent and your Guardrails decide what executes.

What it does not do. The README says it plainly: the system does not make any trades, and it is for education and research, not real investing. It does not cover Solana tokens or read Moby's data; Financial Datasets is a stock market API. Agent verdicts vary between runs, and a good paper NAV is not a forecast.

Install

Third-party code: Moby does not audit or control it. Read the source before you run it.

  1. pipx install aihf (or uv tool install aihf, or pip install aihf on Python 3.11+)
  2. Run aihf; it asks for a Financial Datasets key (https://financialdatasets.ai) and one model key the first time and saves them to ~/.hedge-fund/.env.
  3. Build a paper fund for the tickers behind the tokenized stocks you watch, or run a backtest.
  4. Ask your agent: *"Compare AI Hedge Fund's vote on NVDA with Moby's data on the tokenized NVDA before you buy."*
