AI Stock Trading Bot: Add an AI Agent Next to Your Broker

Updated November 2, 2026 · By Moby

Most people who trade at a broker want to keep it for their main portfolio. The idea here is different: add an AI agent on the side, give it its own wallet in Moby, and let it trade tokenized stocks on Solana around a theme you pick. People looking up an ai stock trading bot usually want that kind of help without giving up the broker they already use.

Set up a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to the AI you use.

What is an AI stock trading bot?

An AI stock trading bot is software that uses an AI model to research and place trades for you. With Moby, you keep your main broker and add a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to Codex, Claude Code or Grok to trade tokenized stocks on Solana, like TSLAx and NVDAx.

A stock trading bot, in the older sense, is software wired to a brokerage account. It follows a fixed rule: a signal, a grid, or a schedule such as DCA. An AI stock trading agent takes in context, reasons about it, and then calls a tool to research or to trade.

People also search for an AI trading bot for stocks, and for an AI stock bot. Those names overlap. The split above is the one that matters. The hub for software that acts for you is agentic trading. This guide does not redefine that term. The sections on tokenized stocks, fees and risks are useful even if you never use Moby.

AI stock trading bot vs AI agent for stock trading

The two get mixed up because both are called bots. This is the practical difference. On Moby, the right-hand column is an AI stock trading agent with its own wallet.

Moby MCP is the connector that lets Codex, Claude Code or Grok trade through your Moby account. It uses the Model Context Protocol, an open way for an AI client to call tools on a server. The limits you set in the app still apply on every buy.

Keep your broker. Give your AI agent a side wallet.

Your main broker stays your main portfolio. Moby does not replace it, and you do not move holdings out of it. Some brokers now offer their own agent features in the account you already have. This page does not name them and does not rank them. It describes a different shape: a side wallet with a budget you choose, next to the app you already use.

Set up a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to the AI you use.

The agent's wallet is separate from your main in-app Moby wallet. You decide how much USDC to put in it. Agent trades are paid in USDC. You run one Moby Agent today, on one themed basket. The wallet balance is the budget, and your main holdings stay where they are.

You can use Moby alongside the app you already trade on.

What are tokenized stocks (xStocks) on Solana?

Tokenized stocks are tokens that track the price of a listed company or ETF. xStocks are one issuer's version of that idea. According to xStocks, each token is backed 1:1 by the underlying security held in custody, and the holder gets price exposure rather than shareholder rights such as voting. According to xStocks, dividends are reinvested through a rebasing mechanism. The xStocks FAQ says secondary trading can run 24/7 depending on the platform. Kraken's xStocks FAQ says that outside market hours the price can drift from the underlying, because quotes then use other inputs and spreads are wider. The issuer's site is xStocks.

A brokerage position is a record at your broker. Tokenized stocks are tokens in a wallet. You do not get voting. When the listed market is closed, the token can still trade, and the price can move away from the last exchange print.

On Solana, the phrases xstocks solana and solana tokenized stocks point at these tokens. Tokenized equities is the same idea in more formal words. Your agent can trade tokenized stocks on Solana, such as TSLAx, NVDAx and GLDx. Agentic trading on Moby starts with crypto and is expanding into tokenized everything.

Theme strategies: one agent, one themed basket

You pick a theme, name the tokenized stocks in the basket, and say how to size and how to exit. The agent trades that one basket inside your guardrails.

These baskets are examples to show how a theme works, not investment advice. Your Moby Agent trades one themed basket at a time, inside the limits you set.

You can also describe a theme like energy and have your agent build the basket from the tokenized stocks it can trade.

A prompt you can paste into Codex, Claude Code or Grok:

Trade a tech basket of tokenized stocks: NVDAx, AAPLx, MSFTx, GOOGLx, AMZNx, METAx and TSLAx. Keep each position small, use a stop-loss and take-profit on every position, and explain each trade to me.

The prompt asks for a small size, a stop-loss and a take-profit on every position, and an explanation of each trade. It does not set a return target. You can paste it, or copy one card from the starter strategies. Strategy cards in the app have an optional "Ask before every trade" switch.

Your agent can trade Solana tokens, including tokenized gold.

What your Moby Agent can trade today

Today the agent trades Solana tokens, paid in USDC. That includes tokenized stocks (xStocks such as TSLAx, NVDAx and GLDx), majors and memecoins. Your agent can trade Solana tokens, including tokenized gold.

Agent trading on Base, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain is coming soon.

In the Moby app, separate from the agent: Buy tokenized gold on Solana in Moby, including GLDx, Oro GOLD and Matrixdock XAUm.

Fees

If you are comparing cost, use the number. A 0.75% swap fee (minimum $0.90 per swap), plus onchain fees. 10% of the Moby fee back in $MOBY on every swap, 20% after your first swap, up to 30% as you climb tiers.

This page does not compare that number with other products.

Do AI stock trading bots actually work?

An AI agent can follow a plan on a clock, including hours you are not watching. It cannot predict markets. Results depend on the strategy, the fees, the liquidity and the conditions. Independent live benchmarks (AI-Trader and StockBench) found many LLM agents struggle to beat simple baselines. This page does not quote their scores. A past test is not a forecast.

The CFTC customer advisory, "AI Won't Turn Trading Bots into Money Machines," warns against treating a bot as a money machine. FINRA's investor insight on artificial intelligence and investment fraud warns about people who promise guaranteed returns or ask you to send funds to them.

The wider discussion is on agentic trading. This page does not repeat that hub's questions.

Is it safe? Risks to know before you start

These points apply before you connect an agent, including if you use a product other than Moby.

Trading tokenized stocks and other crypto assets is risky and you can lose money. Moby does not provide investment advice. Nothing on this page is a recommendation to buy or sell any asset.

How to choose an AI stock trading bot

FAQ

Can an AI agent trade for me while I keep my broker?

Yes. Your main broker stays your main portfolio. In Moby, you set up a Moby Agent with its own wallet and your spending guardrails, then connect it to the AI you use: Codex, Claude Code or Grok. Your agent trades tokenized stocks and other Solana tokens from its own wallet, paid in USDC.

Do AI stock trading bots actually work?

An AI agent can follow a plan consistently, but it cannot predict markets. Results depend on your strategy, fees, liquidity and market conditions, and independent tests have found many AI agents struggle to beat simple benchmarks. No tool can guarantee returns, so start small and treat any promise of profits as a red flag.

Which AI bot is best for stock trading?

It depends on what you want to trade and how much control you want. If you want an AI agent that trades tokenized stocks on Solana next to your main broker, Moby lets you connect Codex, Claude Code or Grok and set limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the app.

Can you make money with an AI trading bot?

You can also lose money. An AI agent executes the strategy you give it, and outcomes depend on that strategy and the market. Regulators such as the CFTC warn that AI does not turn trading bots into money machines. Only fund your agent wallet with an amount you are willing to lose.

What are tokenized stocks?

Tokenized stocks are tokens that track the price of a listed company or ETF. xStocks, such as TSLAx, NVDAx and GLDx, are issued on Solana and, according to the issuer, backed 1:1 by the underlying security. They give price exposure, not shareholder rights like voting, and prices can move differently outside market hours.

Can my AI agent trade a theme like tech or energy?

Yes. You give your agent a themed basket of tokenized stocks, for example NVDAx, AAPLx and MSFTx for tech. You can also describe a theme like energy and have your agent build the basket from the tokenized stocks it can trade. It trades that basket inside your guardrails. You can run one Moby Agent today, so it trades one themed basket at a time.

How are my agent's limits enforced?

You set your agent's limits on max per trade, daily buy volume and market-cap range from the Moby app, and Moby checks them server-side on every buy your agent makes. Your agent also has its own wallet, separate from your main Moby wallet, so you choose how much it can trade with.

How much does it cost to use a Moby Agent?

A 0.75% swap fee (minimum $0.90 per swap), plus onchain fees. You also get 10% of the Moby fee back in $MOBY on every swap, 20% after your first swap, up to 30% as you climb tiers.
